La nueva presidenta tiene que elegir a su vicepresidente, pero su rival Nathan Templeton intenta manipular su elección a través de la prensa. Allen no presta atención a su oposición y elige a su antiguo rival, Warren Keaton, aunque también tendrá que convencerlo a él.
Los miembros del anterior gobierno, a su vez, comienzan a dejar su puesto, entre ellos el jefe de prensa. Acción por la cual Mackenzie tendrá que buscar nuevos miembros que los suplanten.
Mientras, Rebbeca encuentra que su diario se ha perdido en el traslado a la Casa Blanca por lo que el Servicio Secreto se pondrá a buscarlo.
